Terence M. Breslin, VSS Monitoring, CEO, Founder

Martin founded VSS Monitoring in October 2003. Under his leadership the company has grown into the world's leading innovator of Distributed Traffic Capture Systems™, the Protector Series™ inline load balancers / speed converters security appliances such as IPSs, and network TAPs. His vision of creating a distributed systems architecture for what had been a relatively low-technology approach of using standalone TAPs for network traffic capture has changed the practice and potential of network analysis. By giving network managers visibility of any link in even the large network, VSS Monitoring's products increase the ROI and productivity of networks and the people who use them.

From the launch of its first traffic capture device in January 2005, VSS Monitoring has had sales grown of 2.5X per year, consistently been profitable, and has established a large and growing customer base of prominent telecommunications companies, large enterpries and government entities, along with a global network of offices and resellers.

Martin brings to VSS Monitoring extensive technology and engineering experience domestically and internationally, including directing major projects for government and internationally. He holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from the National University of Ireland, and an MBA from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.

Neeraj Agrawal, Battery Ventures, General Partner

Neeraj joined Battery in 2000 and invests in enterprise software/SaaS, technology-enabled services and Internet companies. He was a founding investor in BladeLogic (NASDAQ: BLOG, sold to BMC for $900M). In addition to BladeLogic, Neeraj's investments include Applimation (acquired by Informatica), Bazaarvoice, Brightree, Consona, Glassdoor, Guidewire Software, Internet Brands (NASDAQ: INET), LifeMed Media, Omniture (NASDAQ: OMTR), RealPage (NASDAQ: RP), and VSS Monitoring. He is also actively involved with Groupon and Panaya.

Prior to Battery, Neeraj worked as a product manager at Real Networks, an operating executive at SkyTV, and a management consultant with Booz-Allen. Neeraj holds an Engineering degree in Computer Science from Cornell University as well as an MBA with honors from the Harvard Business School. He is a Charter Member of TiE, and an active advisor to several local entrepreneurs.
