VSS Monitoring's Distributed Traffic Capture System™ (DTCS) bridges the gap between 10/100, Gigabit and 10 GigE networks by offering tools that allow corporations to extend the life of their existing tools and lower the capital and operational expenditures required when purchasing new tools.
VSS Monitoring has a line of traffic capture devices dedicated to providing users with the ability to use different monitoring speed tools than the networks they are monitoring.
The 10/100-1G taps are designed to allow 10/100 networks to be monitored by Gigabit tools, aggregating the output from up to 12 inline or 24 mirror/SPAN ports to any of four Gigabit monitor output ports.
Meanwhile, higher-speed Gigabit and 10 GigE networks can be interchangeably monitored via a line of non-filtering and filtering products from VSS, namely the v2x16, v4x24, and v24 Distributed Taps. Each port on these units offers complete flexibility by allowing configuration as an input (network) or output (monitor). This means that users may choose to monitor either 10 GigE networks and/or Gigabit networks with any of the ports on the devices. Users may select filtering and non-filtering versions of each device.
