V 8.8 C.C-F-AF
10/100/1000 8x8 Distributed Filter Tap
The 8x8 Distributed Filter Tap allows Tapping, Aggregation, and Filtering of 10/100/1000 networks using multiple monitor ports for security and performance. Eight 10/100/1000 ports are available for network traffic input and pass-through. Four SFP monitor ports are provided, while a further four 10/100/1000 ports are available for either input or output. Each monitor port is independently controlled, allowing the user to forward any group of network ports to any monitoring server.

This device enables local management via a serial console and remote management via telnet, HTTP, and SNMP. A filter option enables screening of the monitoring traffic to ensure zero packet loss during aggregation as well as increased input capacity. Filtering also allows traffic to be distinguished according to source and destination MAC/IP address as well as by specific protocols, such as HTTP, VoIP, etc. The network ports can be configured to operate in either span or inline mode giving the user flexibility to deploy multiple or all ports as inline taps while using the remaining ports as input streams only. SNMP traps enable user notification of port status, user login, and management configuration changes.

Redundant power supplies allow seamless transitions between power systems and maximize uptime. All VSS managed devices support field firmware updates for additional features and performance enhancements.
