Distributed Taps
VSS Monitoring은 네트워크 모니터링 툴의 최대치를 활용할 수 있도록 Aggregation과 Selective Aggregation 기술을 선도하여 왔다. 그 중 Filtering은 네트워크 디바이스의 지적 능력을 새로운 차원으로 끌어올리는 기술로, 더 이상 불필요한 패킷을 모니터링 툴이 모두 처리해야 하는 불편함을 없애주고 관심 있는 패킷만을 선택하여 진행시키므로 필요없는 패킷으로 인한 네트워크 과부하를 방지한다.

이 기능은 Upstream Aggregation의 트래픽을 현저히 감소시키므로 포트 수를 늘리기 위해 Distributed Tap 여러 대를 사용해도 네트워크에 무리를 주지 않을 수 있다.

V 2.2 10 Gigabit Distributed Tap은 1개의 Inline Network나 2개 SPAN 10 Gigabit Network에서 Tapping, Aggregation, Filtering을 실행한다. 네 개의 LC 네트워크 Input 포트가 있으며 2개의 XFP 10 Gigabit 포트는 Aggregated 혹은 Non-Aggregated Traffic Ouput에 사용되어 보안, 네트워크 모니터링 혹은 포렌직 장비가 고속의 링크에 억세스 할 수 있도록 해준다.

이 디바이스는 시리얼 콘솔을 통한 로컬 매니지먼트, 텔넷, HTTP, SNMP를 통한 리모트 매니지먼트가 지원된다. Filter 옵션이 모니터링 트래픽을 스크린하여 Aggregation 동안 패킷 손실이 발생하지 않는 것을 확인하며 Input 능력을 높여준다. Filtering은 Source와 Destination MAC/IP Addres에 따라 트래픽을 구분시키는 것은 물론, HTTP, VoIP 등의 특정 프로토콜에 따라 구분하도록 설정할 수 있다.

LoadBalancing은모니터링툴로의트래픽분산을효과적으로컨트롟할수있게하며,세션을온젂하게유지하면서Output의능력을향상시켜준다.예를들어,10G네트워크를캡쳐하여사용자가정의한세션범주에따라여러개의GigabitMonitorTool로자동분산시키는것이다. LoadBalancing은필터링과함께적용하거나독립적으로적용시킬수있다.

모든10GDistributedTap은VSS특허의스태킹테크놀러지인vStack+을지원하므로,여러대의트래픽캡쳐디바이스를Redundant,Low-Latency메쉬구조로설치하여다이내믹한Fault-TolerantVisibility를제공한다.

RedundantPower는젂원시스템이이젂되는동안에도한결같은작동을하도록보장하여Uptime을최대화시킨다.모든VSSManagedDevice는현장에서펌웨어를업데이트할수있으므로이미설치된장비도새로운추가기능과강화된퍼포먼스를누릴수있다.
