Best Laptop For Excel Buying Guide

Excel table on the laptop screen

Before buying a new laptop for Excel, consider the following factors.

GPU

The best laptop for Excel needs a good graphics card. My Excel laptop relies on this power to efficiently calculate and render spreadsheets' graphics.

I recommend a dedicated graphics card for an Excel laptop. This GPU lets me calculate complex tasks more efficiently without affecting the laptop's performance.

The bare minimum graphics card for Excel should be the Integrated Intel UHD 620. However, I can go for the 2GB NVIDIA GeForce MX250, which has a better performance.

Processor

I frequently access my Microsoft Excel when doing my daily office duties. Therefore, I need a powerful processor with solid performance. In this case, the bare minimum should be the 10th-generation Intel Core i3 processor, with a high processing power to run Excel processes efficiently. However, I'll need to invest in a 10th Gen Intel i5 processor to realize the best performance.

RAM

Excel has a lot of data and coordinates several tools to do complex calculations and other operations. Therefore, you should ensure you get a high-memory laptop for this task. However, how much RAM you need depends on your work needs. Generally, higher RAM allows me to run advanced Excel features without affecting the laptop's performance.

8GB of RAM works well for Excel. However, 16GB is the recommended RAM for smooth and seamless Excel operations.

Storage

Excel files, especially spreadsheets, can be huge and occupy large storage space. Therefore, my ideal laptop for Excel should have high storage capacity. The bare minimum is 256GB SSD storage. However, I can go for higher storage if I have the extra cash. 512GB SSD storage is the recommended storage space for Excel. It lets me store huge files, datasets, and media files efficiently. I prefer SSD storage over HDD as it is fast and instantly lets me launch apps and my Excel programs.

Display

The best display for digital art is a Full HD display. This high-resolution display lets me view more details in my spreadsheets without compromising the display quality. It also produces good quality visuals to improve my Excel experience.

In terms of screen size, 13 inches is a good option. However, a more extensive display as the 15.6 inches offers more space to view wide spreadsheets.

IPS panels are great for Excel tasks compared to other panel types. An IPS panel has accurate color reproduction and Excellent viewing angles, which are great for Excel spreadsheets and other functions.

Battery Life

Some Excel programs may take a long period to complete operations. It will be disappointing for the laptop to drain off the battery before you finish running your programs. That's why I recommend a laptop with an Excellent battery life of up to five hours.

Fortunately, some quality laptops have a long battery life of up to eight hours, ensuring I work all day long.
