HP 22cwa Review: Budget 1080p IPS Monitor

I have been using my HP 22cwa 21.5-Inch 1080p full HD monitor for almost 4 months now (see other top affordable monitors). I feel that now, I can go ahead to share with all the people out there the review of this multi functional monitor.

I was impressed with the delivery time because it was delivered before the delivery date.

The setup was straightforward; the menus are easy to navigate, although I did find them less user-friendly compared to other budget monitors, which are similar. The ability to zoom in on objects you are working on, whether it be Photoshop or even face time, is very handy too.

The company was started up in 1939 by Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard, two Stanford graduates with a thirst for technology. HP began as a small business but today employs thousands of people worldwide and produces everything from laptops to printers.

It is a Full-HD Display

The monitor comes with a full HD resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio, and when you turn it on, it will give you an experience of watching HD visuals or even better than HD.

This sleek and stylish monitor delivers vibrant colors and deep blacks for a high picture quality that you'll enjoy for years to come. It is an ideal tool for anyone who enjoys watching their favorite shows, is into photo editing, movies, or even read blogs or articles.

Images and Texts Are Crisp Clear

For instance, when you're working on a monitor using Microsoft Office, the text typed looks crisp and sharp if you set your display to full HD 1080p. Its picture quality makes it easier to read, and one of the best monitors for eye strain, since it has the anti-glare feature. Moreover, it is lightweight and compact, which makes it a good portable monitor.

Even the simplest designs are rendered beautifully on this 1080p monitor. Whether these are photos or videos, they're sure to please you thanks to the IPS display technology of this HP product.

Don't let your gaming stop at your console. This HP monitor lets you take your games from the living room to the world of competitive gaming, though you may want to take a look at these curved gaming monitors, too.

This HP Monitor is Great for Gaming

Nowadays, gaming is a great hobby and a great source of entertainment. But you need to have a gaming monitor to perform well in the game. It helps you win the matches flawlessly.

The HP 22cwa is a good choice for gaming, thanks to its high refresh rate, response time, aspect ratio and high resolution.

HP 22cwa Has a Large Screen for an Immersive Experience

If you are looking for a monitor that is larger, would like to use it for playing games, browsing on the Internet, or watching movies online, then you can opt for HP 22cwa with a 21.5'' ips led backlit panel due to the fact that it comes with an ample size display (see other top LED monitors, as well).

A large screen will make you feel like delving deep into your work and not looking up soon. It is a great visual feast and offers more scope to the proceedings and the enjoyment of watching videos and movies on a bigger computer display. The feeling of watching videos or movies on a large screen with 16:9 aspect ratio is something that you can never have enough of. The sheer joy that it provides must be experienced rather than being described.

It Features an IPS Panel

This is a great monitor as it features an IPS panel. It's short for "in-plane switching," It is an advanced LCD panel technology that delivers better color accuracy, wider viewing angles, better contrast, and richer detail compared to older panel types.

Deliver Better Color Accuracy

If you perform work on your monitor that requires color accuracy, then you will love this computer IPS display. For example, professional photographers and videographers typically employ color-accurate displays to help them achieve excellence in their craft.

It infuriates these individuals when they realize that their screen is simply too cheap to support the performance that they need. You will love this display because it will not disappoint you when it comes to displaying colors.

Dynamic Contrast Ratio

The dynamic contrast ratio of 8,000,000:1 (8 million:1) outputs the darkest black and the brightest white, making it perfect for watching movies or playing games.

I was greatly surprised when I learned about the contrast ratio of this monitor. The contrast ratio of 8 million:1 is not too common for LCD monitors or other types of monitors. This static contrast ratio gives an idea about the depth of color that you get while watching videos or working on a computer.

A high contrast ratio like this makes the colors of images represented on my monitor have vivid colors, just as they are supposed to have on the computer.

It has a Wide Viewing Angle

The moment you have an eye on the HP 22Cwa monitor, you will be able to understand that the monitor is providing you with a good viewing experience. This is because the HP Pavilion 22cwa monitor has a viewing angle of 178°. The viewing angle can provide the users with a good and detailed screen view from all directions of the screen.

With such a great feature of this monitor, you can show your friends, family, or colleagues what you have been working on your computer if they come up behind you.

High Refresh Rate

HP 22cwa 21.5T has a high refresh rate of 60 HZ for smooth gameplay.  The refresh rate of a monitor determines how smoothly and quickly the images will be displayed on the screen.

If you are looking for good refresh rate for gaming monitors, then faster the refresh rate, the more fluid your gameplay will be. If refresh rates drop below 30 HZ, it becomes harder to see what is happening and what you need to do next.

Its Response Time

When it comes to gaming monitors, response time is everything. It is the period an HD monitor takes for one image to transition to the next. A slower pixel response time can result in monitor ghosting or blurred picture, while a super-fast response time keeps you at the head of your competitors, editing HD video or destroying alien invaders.

The quicker the response time, the more responsive and sharper moving images appear on your gaming monitor.

The HP 21.5" monitor with 16:9 aspect ratio delivers a 7 ms response time, providing a smooth picture during fast-action gaming and video playback. When browsing websites or checking email, the transition times are so small that your brain won't notice.

Performance

The 22cwa has nice detail display. Colors are evenly saturated across the 21.5'' IPS LED display, and they didn’t seem washed out, even when viewed off angle. Being an IPS display, it benefits from deep color shades that appear natural as they should, though there is some loss of detail at high pixels, whereby black may appear off tone, but it’s a minor flaw that shouldn't be considered a deal breaker. Because of its screen's size and quality we would also recommend it as a part of a multi display setup.

Durability

Although this monitor is made from plastic, it is well put together and it feels quite solid in the hand. It doesn't creak or feel fragile. The tilt of the monitor adjusts smoothly and stays firmly in place. While this monitor is not something you'd carry with you, we fully expect it to last many years.

Connectivity Ports

It also comes with a VGA port and cable and an HDMI port and cable for you to connect it to other devices. The cables that come with the monitor are fairly long, so it makes it easier to place this HDMI VGA monitor behind your desk and not have any type of cable protruding from your wall or from your desk.

VGA

You will use the VGA (Video Graphics Array) port to connect your monitor with a PC, laptop, or workstation either to display content on screen or to transfer graphics data.

HDMI

Maximize your entertainment space with this HP 21.5-inch monitor. With an HDMI port and cable, you can connect it to other HD devices such as Blu-ray players, video game consoles, and media players to your monitor to enjoy full HD 1080p visuals.
